The RSPCA Vision
It’s our vision to work for a world in which all humans respect and live in harmony with all other members of the animal kingdom.
About our Branch
We are a small local branch of the RSPCA. We were previously known as RSPCA Gwent and Brecknock Branch, before merging with the RSPCA Glamorgan North and East branch and becoming RSPCA Wyth Sir Branch. Wyth Sir translates from Welsh to ‘eight counties’, which is the new area we cover. This are consists of; Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Monmouthshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, Caerphilly and South Powys.
Wyth Sir Branch raises money locally in these areas, and all money raised stays within the eight counties listed to support animal welfare.
Our branch is run by a committee of six locally elected volunteers, who are responsible for the management and administration of the branch’s affairs. The branch has a small team of staff, who deal with the day to day runnings and a group of amazing volunteers, who we couldn’t do without.
We have been helping small wildlife, pets and pet owners within our local community for over 125 years.

What We Do
Our welfare phone line offers advice and issues vouchers to help with emergency vet bills for pet owners who are struggling financially.
We have two Animal Welfare Officers who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome within the local community. They can do home visits, collect medication, advise on welfare issues and help with transport to vets.
We have a charity shop in Chepstow, which helps to generate income for our branch. However, we still rely heavily on the kindness of our lovely supporters.
Our amazing team of volunteers help with absolutely everything! This includes, but is not limited to;
- Taking and making phone calls
- Issuing vouchers
- Collecting donations for our shops
- Attending fundraising events
- Bucket collections
- Running the shop tills
- Sorting and steaming donations

Funding
The cost of all that we do is tremendous, but we know first-hand how much difference every penny makes to this charity. We are here to support our local community in raising the funds that are needed to keep going. As a self-funded charity, it can be difficult to raise the funds we need year on year to support and care for the animals that we rescue. We appreciate all the support we can get from our local community to follow our vision. If you would like to find out how you can help, click the button below.

Supporting Us
Alongside running our own fundraising events throughout the year, we are always keen to hear from supporters in the community who are interested in organising and running fundraising events or activities to support the branch.
We could not operate without the support and hard work of our outstanding volunteers, who give up their time for the branch so we can help hundreds of animals each year. Our volunteers are so valuable to the work that we do, if you are interested in joining the team and helping us achieve our goals then please get in touch.
